How Many Times One Can Apply for GATE 2013?

Hello GATE applicants, many of us having problems while applying for GATE 2013. It is because they introduced many new things in GATE 2013 application process. Try to read the instructions for GATE 2013 online application carefully two to three times and understand it clearly, proceeding without understanding will cause many problem. Main problem is GATE 2013 application will get rejected. So our whole effort is waste and we have to wait for another year to appear GATE exam next time. But one good thing is GATE organizers never eliminate any one intentionally. Even they may give us one more chance to correct our mistakes. Any how try to apply without any mistakes. If you did any mistakes before payment of your GATE 2013 application fee, then there is no problem. You can apply with another email id. Before paying the fee one surely can register more than once till he gets registered with successfully fulfilling all requirements. But paying two times is a foolish thing so if you have paid for first registered form no need to take headache as  there may be a provision for correction like last year. Applications are not rejected on the basis of registering

Advanced Engineering Mathematics By Erwin Kreyszig

Advanced Engineering Mathematics

John Wiley & Sons | 2005-12-29 | ISBN: 0471728977 | 1232 pages | PDF | 18.27 MB

This is an absolutely great book for your GATE mathematics preparation. At over 1000 pages it's a real opus - covering everything from ordinary differential equations, linear algebra, vector calculus, fourier analysis, complex analysis and probability. It's exceptionally well written - with plenty of clear examples, diagrams and exercises - constantly cross referencing back to the particular idea or formula that an example is employing. It presupposes only elementary calculus - and so makes an excellent university textbook to accompany study, or as a self-study book to further your maths knowledge.

Topic wise Weightage and Analysis of GATE 2012 EEE Paper

The candidates who appeared for GATE 2012 EE branch were in for a surprise, an unpleasant one though. There were no 'expected' questions which happen in an exam and the questions were designed to test not just the conceptual Knowledge of the candidates, but in-depth understanding of the subject - coupled with extensive practice. The students who came out of the exam hall felt that paper was difficult than usual. An unusual thing about the EE GATE Paper this time, was in topics - Networks, Signals & Systems, Control Systems, Analog and Digital Electronics and Engineering Mathematics, ECE & EEE got the same questions. Thus in topics like Signals & Systems and Analog & Digital Electronics which are traditionally ECE subjects the questions, were unusually difficult from the perspective of EE student. The General Aptitude section of GATE 2012 provided much need avenues to increase overall GATE Score of the candidate. Most of the questions were easy or of Moderate Level of difficulty – A candidate who has put in the required effort in practicing General Aptitude can score upto (10-12)

Topic wise Weightage and Analysis of GATE 2012 CSE Paper

The overall impression which one gets from analyzing GATE-2012 CSE Paper is that in terms of the level of difficulty, it is same as that of the previous two years. The weight age given to subjects were more or less evenly distributed with a notable exception in case of Software engineering and Web Technologies where there were no questions. While there was no element of surprise in the difficulty level of the paper, the questions asked were tricky and misleading. The questions on Computer Networks in particular would lure the student into a trap of attempting them and spending a lot of time. In last few GATE papers, GA was given for 15 marks; Engineering Mathematics was given for 10 marks. But this time as specified in the GATE 2012 Information Brochure, GA and E.M both were given for 15 + 15 = 30 marks. The General Aptitude section of GATE 2012 provided much need avenues to increase overall GATE Score of the candidate. Most of the questions were easy or of Moderate Level of difficulty .A candidate who has put in the required effort in practicing General Aptitude can score upto (10-12) marks in this section and

Topic wise Weightage and Analysis of GATE 2012 EC Paper

GATE 2012 ECE Paper can be rated as more difficult than the GATE 2011 version. While the GATE 2011 one had some questions which can be answered correctly without much effort, the current paper did not offer such luxury to the students. The questions were very tricky and candidate had to be extra cautious while responding. Students who took certain areas like E.M. Theory for granted as not many questions are asked in GATE on it were in for surprise, as a weight age 12 marks were given to those questions. In last few year GATE papers, GA was given for 15 marks; Engineering Mathematics was given about 10 marks. But this time as specified in the GATE 2012 Information Brochure, GA and E.M both were given for 15 + 15 = 30 marks. Engineering Subject was covered only in 70 marks.Branches like EEE, ECE, Instrumentation, they have common subjects to name Engg. Maths, Electrical Networks, Electronic Devices, Analog Electronics, Digital Circuits, control systems, and Signals and Systems etc. This year all these three branches have the same questions for those common subjects along with GA. Because

One of the Solved question of GATE 2011

An 8085 assembly language program is given below. Assume that the carry flag is initially unset. The content of the accumulator after the execution of the program is

MVI A,07H

RLC

MOV B,A

RLC

RLC

ADD B

RRC

Options  : (A) 8CH  (B) 64H  (C) 23H  (D) 15H

Listen question:
This is 8085 microprocessor (some times they may ask 8086 also). In this question is interested about Accumulator after execution. Initially the carry flag is reset (its 0 ).

Little theory about this:
8085 is 8 bit microprocessor. The flag format is

s - sign flag, z – zero flag, AC – Auxiliary carry flag, p –parity flag, cy – carry flag(this is the flag interested ).

cy – carry flag will be affect when doing the arithmetic operation, its mean if we have the order of the format of 8 bit is D7 D6 D5 D4 D3 D2 D1 D0 then after doing the arithmetic operation the D7 bit will be greater than or equal to 10(one zero). So this is called the Carry flag affected.

Instruction functionality :

MVI A,07H --à ; (H-- hexa decimal, D--Decimal )(07H = 07D) so 07H moves to Accumulator Immediately. (immediately functions using only when the raw data moves into the register)

RLC : --àThe contents of the accumulator are rotated left one position. Bit D7 is placed in both D0 and CY. This CY flag is modified according to bit D7. S,Z,P and AC are not affected.

RRC: -àThe content of the accumulator are rotated right by 1 bit. Bit D0 is placed in both D7 and CY at the same time.

MOV B,A: -àthe content of the accumulator Register moves to the B register. No flags will be affected.

ADD B : -àAdd the B register content to accumulator register. All flags are affected based upon the result of the addition.

Program explanation:

MVI A,07H ; a=07h

RLC ; 00000111 will become a=00001110, cy=0

MOV B,A ; b=00001110 (b=0Eh)

RLC ; a=00011100, cy=0

RLC ; a=00111000, cy=0

ADD B ; before execution of this instruction a=38H, b=0Eh; after execution of this instruction a+b = 46H, so in accumulator = 46H(01000110)

RRC ; a=00100011(23H), cy=0

After this RRC instruction content of the accumulator is a=23H

So answer is (C)

Increasing Number of PSUs Recruiting Through GATE 2013

GATE exams are held on a competitive level and form the paradigm for both the public sector jobs and postgraduate admissions in India. GATE exams for different engineering branches are conducted on a national level so as to filter a pool of intellectual, technically sound engineering candidates. Among the first companies, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) declared that it would recruit candidates solely on the basis of the GATE score. This formed a definite selection criterion to create a work environment of technically adept personnel. In addition there are a varying number of PSUs which have included GATE as the first paradigm for selection namely – HPCL, NTPC, BEL to cite a few. The GATE score has its utility in different modes. Certain organizations conduct a second round of screening on the GATE score criterion. It is the group discussion round which forms the deciding factor. Often, a pupil who has secured an exceptionally high GATE score, would ace through the group discussion round as it would be a repetition of the GATE syllabus study.

So u have to compete with these 20000 students all over India .Be brave and confident , your confidence is more important than anything else say your preparation also . A student with good preparation but without confidence will spoil the paper , May be a student who went to exam with little preparation , cool mind and confidence can crack the GATE easily.

So nearly five more months we have in our hand, how much u have prepared for the GATE 2013, how many books u have studied , how many problems u have studied does not matter , because no questions will be direct and repeated , the questions will test your basics and your level of understanding of the subject , how well you can apply the theory .
