Preparing for the GATE 2013

Prospective engineers especially who is preparing for the 2013 session are already accustomed to this term- GATE 2013 examination. However, here a brief note on the exam is being given to help you know the yet unknown facts. Moving in detail, you will get information on different aspects of this aptitude test.

Gate 2013 Exam Pattern:
Applicants should prepare for a single paper, (According to the bachelor stream) to appear in the examination. The duration of the exam will be three hours and the paper will consist of 65 questions as usual. The hundred-number question paper mostly contains MCQ (Multiple Choice Type Question). For one single question, you will have four options to choose the right answer. Students should answer the questions carefully because of negative marking. Overall, no such changes have taken place for GATE 2013 exam pattern.


How to Apply for Gate Exams, 2013
For this session, the process of applying for the exam will be done online and students can fill up the form from the GATE’s official website. After filling the form, you have to receive a printout of the online application form. You can use the online banking facility or can download a challan to pay the examination fees. Here it needs mention that for GATE 2013; all transactions will be done through SBI only.

Recent changes in GATE exam:
A few changes have taken place in GATE 2013 exams rules and regulations, which the students should be aware of. Just check the points below to know about the changes in detail.

  • Good news for female candidates as they don’t need to pay the examination fee to Government of India from this session.
  • Redressal grievance and information related to GATE exam will be available on online applicant interface from now onwards.
  • Fifteen out of the twenty-one subjects will be conducted online. The rest of the papers will be conducted offline as usual. Possible dates for these two individual exams are 20th January and 10th February.

Gate Exam Preparation:
Along with these, some other changes are also taking place in Gate 2013 exam category. Students are allowed to use black ink only to write in the exam. The exam authority will cancel answer sheet written with other inks.

Students appearing for pre-final year exam are no more eligible to appear for this aptitude test.

Before you start filling the online form, don’t forget to have scanned photo with your scanned signature in hand. Casual photos are no more being accepted because the authority wants to ensure more safety measures.

From now onwards student will not get their admit card delivered by post, and they have to download it from the official website of GATE only. All these alterations have been done keeping the growing exam pressure in mind.

Gate Examination Result:
We have already mentioned probable dates for two individual GATE 2013 exams, but a student needs information about the exam result date also. Well, it is being said that the result for this year exam will be published on 15th March, within 10.00 hours. Students can check scores and ranking from the official GATE website.
