The results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) have been declared on the official website. After the declaration of the results, candidates can download their GATE 2016 score card from the website. The score cards will be issued to:
- All SC/ST/PwD candidates whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying marks of SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- All other candidates whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying mark of OBC candidates.
The validity of GATE score card is three years after the declaration of the results. A good GATE score helps in obtaining financial assistance during Master’s degree programmes and direct Doctoral programmes in Engineering, Technology and Architecture, as well as Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of science in the institutes that are supported by the MHRD or other government agencies.
GATE is an all India examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
